Community resources

At Fath Bridge Independent Housing Service in Houston, Texas, we believe everyone deserves a real second chance. We are an independent living residence—not an emergency shelter—dedicated to helping veterans, re-entry individuals, domestic violence survivors, and members of the LGBTQ+ community build self-sufficiency. Discover the essential everyday resources and community partnerships available to support your path forward.

Food assistance and essential supplies

Meeting basic nutrition and household needs is essential for building a stable life. Management provides essential household products and food at the start of each month to help residents stay grounded. We also connect residents directly with local Houston food pantries, church giveaway programs, and Meals on Wheels partnerships. Up-to-date food drive schedules and distribution spots are regularly posted on our in-house bulletin boards so you always know where to turn.

Employment support and transportation

Securing stable employment is a vital step toward long-term independence. Our management team takes a hands-on approach, working alongside residents on job applications, resume building, and interview preparation. To help you attend interviews, make appointments, and commute, we offer rideshare support three days a week please get with management for more information. We actively encourage every resident to build self-confidence and self-reliance while providing the guidance necessary to succeed.

Clothing, community networks, and connections

Finding suitable work attire and everyday clothing shouldn't be an obstacle. We partner with local Houston clothing closets and charitable organizations to supply quality clothing at no cost. Residents can always check the house resource board or speak directly with management for guidance.
